Przemysław Boczkaj ‘SPEC-WOOD’ is implementing a project entitled ‘Increasing the competitiveness of Przemysław Boczkaj ’SPEC-WOOD‘ through the use of design in the company’s operations’ under Measure 1.4 Design for competition within the Regional Operational Programme for Eastern Poland for 2014-2020.
Project objectives:
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Applicant by increasing its potential in the field of skilful design management and by increasing the use of design in the activities of SPEC-WOOD. The implementation of the project will translate into the launch of new products on the market and the strengthening of the company’s position through design. The Applicant’s goal is to obtain comprehensive support in the use of design processes by purchasing a design audit service along with the creation of a design strategy understood as recommendations for further actions, on the basis of which, through the use of design processes, product innovation will be implemented. The recommendations contained in the design strategy will be implemented by incorporating them into current operations. The applicant will finance the activities from its own resources and subsidies under stage 2.

Project objectives:
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the competitiveness of the applicant’s company by increasing its potential in the field of skilful design management and increasing the use of design in the company’s activities, which will directly translate into the launch of new products on the market. The specific objective of the project is to implement the recommendations resulting from the Design Strategy developed in Stage I
Design Strategy by introducing product innovation in two categories and process, marketing and organisational innovation using design. The company is open to the opportunities offered by the implementation of design management and is ready to introduce changes in its operations.

Project title: ‘Development of a circular economy transformation business model for SPEC-WOOD Sp. z o.o.’
Project description:
The project involves the purchase of consulting services that will lead to the preparation of a circular economy transformation business model
for SPEC-WOOD Sp. z o.o. The circular economy transformation business model, i.e. a business model
company’s operations based on CE principles, will include an analysis of the entire
SPEC-WOOD company, as well as the possibilities for implementing CE solutions
the entire company’s operations, together with recommendations. The model will describe selected solutions and will also include
the identification of potential opportunities for the applicant to cooperate with other companies in the circular economy,
including the creation of and participation in value chains.
Tasks to be carried out as part of the project:
Conducting an audit of the activities of Spec-Wood Sp. z o.o. in the context of the circular economy
(CE).
Preparation of a CE transformation model focused on, among other things:
– Reducing the use of primary raw materials by increasing the use of secondary raw materials
, including by-products and packaging (eco-design)
– Reducing the amount of waste generated
– Closing the loop: increasing the use of waste in the production processes of wooden products
and packaging
Target groups:
The project is aimed at SPEC-WOOD Sp. z o.o. and other companies interested in
transitioning to a circular economy.

The aim of the project is to prepare an audit and develop and implement a circular economy
transformation business model that will increase resource efficiency and minimise waste generation
throughout the company.
Project results:
The expected results of the project include a reduction in the use of primary raw materials, an increase in
the use of secondary raw materials, a reduction in the amount of waste generated, and the introduction of new,
environmentally friendly materials or solutions that reduce the consumption of materials,
energy or emissions by consumers.
