Comments

When a visitor leaves a comment on the website, we collect the data visible in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser signature to help detect spam.

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with EXIF location tags. Visitors to the website can download and read the full location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on the site, you may choose to save your name, e-mail address and website in cookies, so that the above information will be conveniently filled in when you write further comments. Cookies expire after one year.

If you visit the login page, we will create a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also create several cookies to save your login information and screen options. Login cookies expire after two days, and screen options after one year. If you select ‘Remember Me’, your login will expire after two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data, but simply indicates the ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the user had visited the specific website directly.

These sites may collect information about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that site.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the message sent.

How long we store your data

If you leave a comment, its content and metadata will be stored indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve subsequent comments automatically, without sending them for moderation each time.

For users who have registered on our website (if any), we also store the personal information entered in their profile. Each user can view, correct or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username, which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and modify this information.

Unless otherwise specified above, your data will only be stored by us for as long as necessary to achieve the specified purpose.

If the processing of your data is based on consent, it will be deleted immediately upon receipt of your revocation, unless further processing of your data is legally permitted on another legal basis.

If our processing of your data is based on a legitimate interest, we will immediately cease processing if you object, unless our legitimate interests in further processing outweigh your interests. If we process your data for direct marketing purposes, we will cease doing so immediately upon receiving your objection.

Where we send your data

Guest comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.

Disclosure of your data for payment processing

For the purpose of payment processing, your data will be sent to the selected payment service provider or bank. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.

Disclosure of your data to other service providers

Depending on the shipping method you choose, we will pass on your data to the relevant shipping and logistics service provider for the purpose of shipping. In addition, we transfer your data to IT service providers (e.g. e-mail providers), drop shipping providers and other service providers or order processors for the purpose of order processing, if necessary. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.

Liability

Handling of enquiries

If you contact us (e.g. by e-mail or via contact forms/channels), we process the data you provide in order to respond to and process your enquiry. If you contact us to initiate or execute a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. If your request is not granted within the scope of our contractual obligations, your request justifies our legitimate interest in processing your data. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Unless we are required by law to store your data for a longer period, we will only store the data collected during your contact with us until your request has been finally processed and the purpose for storing your data has ceased to exist.

Order processing

If you place an order with us, we use the data you provide to accept your offer and execute the contract. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.

We may also use the data you provide when placing orders to send you information by post or email about similar goods or services from our range. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, according to which informing you about similar offers is in our legitimate interest.

Due to commercial and tax law requirements, we are obliged to store your data collected in connection with orders for up to ten years. After two years or upon expiry of all warranty obligations or other contractual obligations (e.g. software updates), whichever occurs later, we will restrict the processing of your data, i.e. your data will then only be stored for the purpose of fulfilling our legal storage obligations.
